Sugar Land is the largest city in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, located in the southwestern part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. Located about 19 miles southwest of downtown Houston.

“I am an Executive Director with fifteen years’ experience working in the senior living industry. At the age of 10 years old I knew I wanted to help people, particularly “seniors.” I started in housekeeping and worked my way up, learning all roles in the community until becoming Executive Director. I specialize in teamwork, and take pride in resident and staff satisfaction, customer service, and having a positive attitude. I am very determined, and earned my bachelor’s in business management, increased census growth by 10%, and assisted with overall operational success. I am inspired by my family. In my free time, I like to play Mario Cart with my son, watch tv with my daughters. Our favorite shows are Survivor and Law & Order SVU.”

A couple of months ago, I moved my parents into Greatwood at Sugar Land. I'm very pleased. The team there was patient with us as we gathered information and made a decision about the move. I visit my parents regularly and am always pleased with what I find. It's obvious the team at Greatwood cares for the residents. I'm grateful to have found a safe, friendly, and affordable place for my parents to live so close to home.

Brad Bendix

“Being an East Texas native, these piney woods have become my long-term home! I hold 8 years of experience within Garden Estates walls after developing my skills and senior living knowledge from the beginnings of the Maintenance Assistant working my way up to the Executive Director position. After growing up roughly 100 miles south in Onalaska, Tx, becoming a ‘Tylerite’ has been an easy transition for me! I met my soulmate at Stephen F. Austin, where we both graduated, and I chased her back to her roots in Tyler. My mission at Garden Estates is to provide the best experience for each resident that is possible. Whether that means lending an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, or an honest opinion just depends on the case! When I’m not at work I enjoy the company of my wife & 3 dogs, working around my koi pond, or catching the next big Star Wars movie/show!”

What a Great place to Live! My mother lives in independent living and has enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are so helpful, friendly, and courteous. My mom enjoys gardening, art, and dancing. She also loves the full size kitchen in her apartment because she loves to bake and cook. She has meet new friends here and consider this her home.

“I grew up in Central Texas, married my High School sweetheart, graduated from UMHB, and have 4 amazing sons. I changed careers 11 years ago when I needed more meaning in my work and life. I was blessed to start as an Executive Director of an Assisted Living/Memory Care where I found my calling. I have been with Garden Estates of Temple for the past few years, and it has been the most amazing experience to lead a Senior Community that makes a difference in the lives of everyone we serve.”

I've lived at Garden Estates of Temple for 3-1/2 years and couldn't be happier. I have served as Secretary for the Resident Council Board for 2-1/2 years. We have wonderful staff members, caregivers, med office staff and friendly residents. The food is excellent & plentiful! lol. Looking for a new place to live? Come see us, you'll love us!

“I have been with Garden Estates of Corpus Christi for over 6 years. I have served the community as the Business Office Manager and since 2021 as the Executive Director. Prior to working with our senior population, I worked for 20 years in the multi-family housing industry holding the positions of property manager and regional director of operations. I love caring and working for our seniors and treat each one as if they were my own family.”

Garden Estates is a happy place. My mom enjoys living there. Her new, good friends are a happy bunch too. Food and activities are excellent. The building and grounds are lovely and well maintained. Those who work there are kind and patient.

Meet Our Executive Director

Keith Ayers

I grew up on a poultry farm in West Georgia, where I learned early on the values of hard work and dedication. After attending West Georgia College, I moved to Atlanta to begin a career in financial services. It was there that I met Sharon, a wonderful woman and Texas native, who soon after became my wife. We have been married for 32 years and, together, we have a son, Jackson.

My journey into senior living began over a decade ago. After years in financial services and sales, I was ready for a change; I wanted to do something more personally meaningful. A day of volunteering at an Assisted Living community in California was all it took for me to discover my passion for senior care. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to the field, working in Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living in California, Texas, and Georgia. In every community where I’ve been fortunate to serve, I have remained committed to providing open-door support for residents, families, and team members alike. After three moves in and out of this great state, Sharon and I now happily call Lago Vista home. When I’m not spending time with my family, I enjoy refinishing furniture—a hobby I love for the satisfaction of bringing “new life” to each piece.

As the saying goes, I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!

I can't say enough wonderful things about the Court at Round Rock. This community has been here for many years, and it is the best when it comes to an affordable and beautiful community. The food is absolutely amazing with flexible meal times if you should want to sleep in. Every time I walk in the door, the residents have smiles on their faces and laughter is in the air. The longevity of the staff and their dedication to the residents, is simply remarkable. The entire team advocates for and cares genuinely for each of their residents making sure they are enjoying their lives to the fullest. There are always activities going on in this community, with parties, outings, games and crafts, just to name a few. And the residents enjoy attending and participating in these activities. Take time, to go by and visit this best kept secret of Williamson County. You won't be disappointed.

Britney Rice, LPN

“I started my career in geriatrics back in 2005 as a CNA and then went on to become a LPN in 2008. I started with Senior Solutions in 2010 as the LPN charge nurse then moved into the wellness director role where I stayed for the next 4 years. In 2018, I was given the opportunity to be promoted to the executive director, where I have had the privilege to serve ever since. I am married to my high school sweetheart Dean. We have two kids Devin and Bailey and 3 fur babies Diesel, Bella and Gypsy. I have lived in Loudon county all my life. Coming from a personal situation where my grandmother was in a facility and not cared for properly, I have seen how that affected her and our family, and I have made it my life’s purpose to do all that I can to never let that happen to any residents under my care. It was my entire reason for becoming a nurse so that I could make a difference in someone’s life when their family couldn’t be there for them, I would be able to. I never saw that experience at 17 years old taking me to where I am now being over a facility caring for others in similar situations, but I feel that is what drives me to be the best and push myself and my team to be the best. We are an extension of their family and here to provide the care they could not do alone. This is what makes me love my job and all the struggles worth it!”

River Oaks is a excellent place. My Dad has been there for several years and loves it. The staff and management are very professional and care about there jobs. I'm not sure what we would do with out them. I would recommend River Oaks to anyone needing help with thier loved ones.

Amy Justice

Amy Justice is a native South Carolinian who has called Mount Pleasant home for the last 11 years. After attaining her bachelors in science from Duke University, she went on to earn her doctorate in physical therapy from Emory University.

Amy’s career began in the hospital system, specializing in neurologic physical therapy. After transitioning to subacute rehab and outpatient services within assisted living and memory care, Amy realized her passion for the senior population. After serving as the director of rehabilitation services for the last seven years, Amy is excited and honored to transition to the role of Executive Director at The Marsh at Carolina Park.

Amy is dedicated to providing exceptional, individualized care to all residents in order to attain the highest quality of life. She is focused on open communication, teamwork, positivity and building a community that is nurturing and enjoyable for residents as well as staff. Amy considers providing care to this generation to be a privilege.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.

My father had the pleasure of spending time at The Marsh in their memory care area. I can’t say enough great things about the staff and the way he was treated. His final months will always be remembered for the love and kindness he was provided by everyone at The Marsh. I am forever grateful for everyone that helped my Father. No assisted living facility is perfect, but knowing your loved one is surrounded by people that care is a blessing! Thank you!

“I have had the privilege to work at Azalea Estates of Slidell for the last 15 years. I have held various roles including my current position as the Executive DIrector. It is an honor to love and care for this amazing generation. I lead with dedication and passion and strive to set an example for the younger generation to lead with a servant’s heart. Of all the favorite roles I have held, my most favorite is as the matriarch to my family. I have been happily married to the love of my life for 45 years and I have three beautiful children and nine grandchildren, who are the light of my life. In my spare time, I love to cook and spoil my residents and team with authentic Louisiana cajun cuisine. I am a huge LSU Fan, love Mardi Gras, and have held the title as Mardi Gras Queen! Thank you for allowing me to love your family and make them my own.”

Peace of mind: words to describe what Azalea Estates means to me, the person responsible for the welfare of my disabled sister. For my sister, Azalea Estates means assistance and support within their community. Attention to her well being is assured 24/7, with activities and companionship to fill her days. Peace of mind says it best and has since she moved into her home in 2002.

Lorrie Nunley

“I joined Azalea Estates Shreveport in October of 2005 as the Executive Director. I have more than 19 years of experience in senior housing, 30 years of property management, including new development, and leasing. I am a certified Assisted Living Director for the state of Louisiana.

I have served many terms as a Board Member for the Louisiana Assisted Living Association over the last 14 years. I received the Individual Leadership Award in 2014 from the Louisiana Assisted Living Association. I also received the “you make the difference” award from the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 2015. Before joining Azalea Estates, I served as the Director of Multifamily Property Management for Vintage Realty Company.

I am a native of the Shreveport area and am involved in many aspects of the community, and church. I reside in Shreveport with my husband. I have four children, seven grandchildren, and one little furry child named Sophie.”

My special needs sister has lived here for over 7 years. They have taken amazing care of her and kept in great communication with us. My sister has loved living here and loves all of the sweet people who take such great care of her. We couldn't have found a better place for her to live! Five stars for sure!!
